Does it enable rich customization of the visual once it has been created?.Is it compatible with modern browsers and operating systems?.Will it synchronize with other apps like Microsoft Excel?.Does it have a simple, modern and easy-to-use interface?.However, there are some fundamentals that should always be considered when evaluating any timeline maker software: Here are the best tools for when you want to create timelines:ĭepending on the user’s needs and requirements, the answer to this question will vary. The cord and the scissors are merely there as a distraction – this is an example of a level with no tricks when you would expect a trick. Level 14: To turn off the dangerous kettle, tap the red button on the front of it, which is the on/off button. Level 13: To make it so that Tom the cat can jump to the other side, give him the mushroom by dragging it over from the right side to Tom to make him grow, then hit jump. Each time you tap a rising apple, it subtracts an apple from your count until you hit 0, which is when you pass the level. If you tap a rising one, it will add one apple to your count to catch. Level 12: To catch 5 falling apples, tap only the FALLING apples, not the rising ones. It’s the shortest one in days, but it’s the longest one as far as word length. Level 11: The month that is the longest is February, because it has the most letters in the word. The jester on the right side will have six fingers on one hand, as you can see in the picture below: Level 10: To figure out what’s unusual with the picture, look at the hands of each of the characters. To find the green ball, put the yellow ball and blue ball together. Level 9: There is no green ball at first only red, yellow, and blue, but you can put the yellow and blue balls together to combine them into a green ball. Level 8: To feed the “cat”, take the cat treat/cookie and put it over the word “cat” in the question. Slide the arrow to the left, out of the box and off of the screen, to unlock. Level 7: Even though the arrow is drawn as if it’s supposed to be slid to the right, it’s not. That’s because the formerly second-place racer is now in third place, which was your old place. Level 6: If you overtake the second-place racer, that means you will be in second place. Level 5: To accurately count the pizza slices, move them out of the way with your finger and then count them, as some of them are hidden behind the visible slices. Level 4: Which one is closest to us? Tap on the moon, because it’s closest to the word “us” in the question. No tricks here, since the elephant is already small enough to fit inside. Level 3: To put the elephant into the fridge, tap the fridge handle to open it, and then put the elephant in. There are about five clouds to move, total. Level 2: To make the flower blossom, all that you have to do is move the clouds out of the way to reveal the sun. And it’s the biggest picture in the question. Level 1: Which one is the biggest out of all of the animals? The answer is the lion, since that’s the biggest out of all of the animals in the picture in real life. Read on for all answers to all questions in Brain Test: Tricky Puzzles! The questions get tougher and tougher, as this is one of the toughest trick-question games on the market. You have to do all kinds of random stuff in order to solve the puzzle, such as use the answer that might not be obvious at first, or shake your phone, or find hidden objects, or solve math problems. It’s been at the top of the download charts for a long time, and has even gotten its own sequel, titled Brain Test 2: Tricky Stories. Brain Test: Tricky Puzzles is one of the most popular trick question games in the history of the iOS and Android platforms. There are four different highlight colours. Students will highlight a word, and then click on the translator tool, and it will give different translated options. The language that you want terms translated to needs to be set up in the Read&Write settings, but once it is set up, it is easy to use. This is a great feature that helps students to ensure they understand what they are reading. You speak, and it will type for you! This can be done in multiple languages, so it is great for any language class. It helps you to focus and read from the screen. This will grey out the background and focus in on a smaller bar/area of text. This feature converts the text to an audio file and will download the audio file to your device. It will analyze the text, then create a play/pause button within that area to play just that specific text. Click and drag around the text that you want read aloud. If you click, you will get a plus symbol. This feature will stop playing the read aloud of a text. This is used along with the Read Aloud feature – this will pause any read aloud. This one likely doesn’t need any explanation. Highlight a word, or section, or click at the beginning of a paragraph and it will read aloud the text for you. These can also be copied/pasted into activities or evaluations to help give a visual representation of a term. The picture dictionary will show various picture representations of a word. The dictionary will provide a variety of definitions based on various contexts, plus it will read aloud each definition as well. These are some of our favourite tools on the Read&Write toolbar. When typing, if turned on this feature will give word suggestions based on the last word that you typed, even mid-word! It can also read aloud words to help choose the right term. If you click on the underlined term, it will bring up a drop down with different options for replacing that term or error. Students can highlight a paragraph of text, click on the check it tool, and it will underline any possible errors. This is a spell check and grammar checking tool. The toolbar will look like this (minus the numbers): Google Read&Write Toolbar You will have to give permissions the first time that you use Google Read&Write, but after that, a tool bar should appear along the top of your Google Doc (or Slide, etc.). To open Read&Write from within the Google Workspace (Docs or Slides), click on the purple puzzle piece on your extensions bar. For example, the features available in Google Slides are different than those available in Google Docs. Please note: Not all features are available in all tools. Let’s get started with the features available, and how to access Read&Write. TextHelp has also created a quick reference guide for the features in Read&Write. Once you have it added, the best way to get started with it is to play with it! Give it a try, click on the various buttons or options, and see how it works for you. This week, we are diving into Google Read&Write: all of the features, and how you can use this Chrome extension with your students. However, once you start to get familiar with synths, you’ll know how to make it do what you want it to do. The only thing about the presets though is that they’re so specific, if you don’t immediately want that exact sound, you’re going to have to do a little bit of editing to get it the way you want it to sound. There’s around 250 of them and they’re all pretty great. I scrolled through most of them and there are more than enough. This rounds out and thickens the flavor of the whole sound, which only adds to the famous Moog fatness. My favorite combo is the sine wave, a smooth round sound, and the sawtooth, the famous edgy synth sound. So, if you’d like to combine a saw and a square, you can totally do it. The Sub 37 allows you to run two oscillators at once, something only made possible in recent years. If you’re not familiar with oscillators, they basically manipulate the soundwaves that come out of your synth. Even though it’s only a 37 key synth, there’s still enough room to hit those bigger chords. As a synth and keyboard player, a good fifty percent of what I need requires chords, so it always feels good to have that option. For me, this is always useful when I want to play synth chords, and with a mono synth, you cannot play chords. So, I appreciate the value of a good monophonic synth, meaning you can only play one note at a time, and while this synth is excellent at that, I really appreciate the poly mode which turns the synth into a polyphonic synth, meaning you can play more than one note at a time. But, it’s literally a tenth of the price at around $150, so you get what you pay for.īelow, please quickly take a moment to view some of the best-selling synthesizers currently on sale online: If you get something cheaper like a Korg Volca synth, you’ll see it’s not quite as clean. The Moog passes this test of course, but I never really had any doubt about it. If it struggles with this, you know they could have designed it a little better. So, I know that if it sounds clean and precise, the filters are good. It achieves a sci-fi sounding sweep down different steps in the frequency range, and it sounds like you’re making music in space. Now, what I like to do, when I’m testing the filters, is turn up the cutoff and resonance all the way, leave the resonance up, and roll off the cutoff slowly. Turn it down and you’ve got a chimey, muted round sound that could put a baby to sleep. Turning the cutoff filter all the way up turned the saw waveform into a buzzing chainsaw. Your standard cutoff and resonance filters are extremely potent. It’s really easy to play.īetter yet are the filters. That might sound too poetic, but I think you’ll understand what I mean. So when you run a quick C scale across its 37 key keyboard, it’s like running your hand across the water, making little ripples. The keys, the frequencies-everything just sort of flows together. Now when I demoed the Moog Sub 37 in order to prepare for this review, one of the most striking characteristics is how it seems to glide. VCF, 2 LFOs, 2 envelopes, sync and cross modulation Gooseneck mic w/built-in Vocoder & AutoPitch I’ll be focusing on each of these synths features, their sound, their weight and portability, and their prices in order to help you when it’s time for you to get an analog synth when you’re ready to jump in.īefore we move forward, please take a moment to compare the Moog Sub 37 to other notable synthesizers that are currently on the market:Ĩ-Track Pattern Sequencer w/Non-Stop Recordingġ6-Step Polyphonic Step & Motion Sequencer I’d love to tell you about how the Moog Sub 37 is one of my favorite analog synths, what I love about it, what I feel like other synths do better, and how it compares to synths like the Dave Smith Pro 2, the Moog Voyager, the Minimoog Model D, and the Moog Sub Phatty (which is exactly what we’re going to do today). Since then, we’ve seen a lot of amazing synth creators out there, such as Dave Smith, for instance. So I’d like to review the Moog Sub 37, a newer version of the analog synth that put synthesizers on the map for mainstream music back in the 1970s. Robert Moog took this idea and transformed it into a more practical level, and while you can still get theremins today, the synthesizer has become vastly more popular, and a lot of people attribute that to Moog’s work. Theremins are devices that detect the motion of your hand and correspond with a frequency. Robert Moog, the namesake of the Moog synthesizers, actually started when he was a student in the 1960s. What they might not know is that the story actually begins nearly fifty years ago. What they’re familiar with is possibly the fattest, warmest analog synth sound on the market available today. It’s probably because they’re thinking of the legendary Moog synthesizers. When pro audio musicians hear the term “ analog synthesizer,” they might get a little grin on their face. But then I realized the whistle system had confused him. I had my friend play for a while and he kept trying to whistle for our horse and he never showed up. I have had a few people ask me this now, and it’s a bit confusing. There Are Two Whistles, Which Is Why Your Mount Isn’t Coming I also highly recommend shooting for the skill that lets you get your super move instantly as soon as you enter combat, as it will save you a lot of health, and combined with the chain kill skill, can get you two separate kills as soon as a fight starts.ħ. Given that most fights will only be against 2-4 people at a time, that’s a big deal. They cost 3 ability points each, but are worth it, as they can be an instant kill essentially for free. There are a lot of skills in ACO’s ability tree, but the ones I’d recommend going after first would be the two that let you chain kills together in both stealth mode and open combat. You can also get a few Legendaries from pre-ordering the game (those you can save to upgrade later, as they start at level 1, I think) and you can buy them as microtransactions, but I would not recommend that, as finding Legendaries is one of the most fun things to do in ACO, and buying them outright feels like a buzzkill. Past that, I also got Legendary weapons as quest rewards eventually, from fort commanders at times, and I think you can get a few from scroll quests which have you tracking down otherwise unfindable weapons in the wild. Each of them will have a unique Legendary for the taking, so definitely hunt them down when you’re powerful enough. Rather, the core places I found Legendary weapons were later in the game, starting at about level 20 or so when I killed my first Phlyake bounty hunter. This costs a lot of money, so only do it with your favorites and only do it when the level gap is large, but the point is that weapons you get even at level 5-10-15 can still be useful when you’re 35-40, so I would definitely not sell or scrap any legendaries, as many unique ones you cannot get again.Īnd where do you actually get those Legendary weapons? Assassin’s Creed Origins will not just drop them in your lap from random bad guys. While you’re not literally combining weapons together, you can pay to “upgrade” your Legendary weapons, bows or shields to your current level at any time. While you may not realize this at first, Assassin’s Creed Origins has a Destiny-like “infusion” system that will allow you to make even your early Legendaries useful in the endgame. Also, since this is kind of confusing, sprint on a mount is not X, which is stick you to a road, but instead hold forward on the movement stick to build up speed. While I believe camels may give you some benefits in combat, ultimately horses are the faster mounts, from what I can tell, meaning that if you’re using them to get places quickly (which is the main point of mounts) you may want to stick with horses over camels. That means everything will be easier to scout and locate, so while these may not seem like the most useful objectives anymore, they’re actually a lot more important than they look.Īs excited as I was to play a game where you could ride around on a camel, I quickly found that they were not exactly my cup of tea. There are something like 60 vision towers in the game, and what they do is extend the range of Senu’s scanning abilities with each one you find. While there are plenty of vision towers in Assassin’s Creed Origins, the “vision” they’re granting is to your bird, not you, this time around, in addition to them being fast travel points. One more early bird tip before we move on. Open chests, get better loot, and equip it to increase your odds of getting better loot. With today marking the release of 5.0, the company’s biggest software update yet, I thought now would be as good a time as any to share my experience. I’ve been putting the Synology DiskStation hardware and brand new DiskStation Manager 5.0 software to the test in recent months to see if I could really benefit from a NAS solution despite all my content already being on the cloud and backed up. Coworkers can’t stop talking about them, and the products have received a lot of praise from many other reviewers as well. That being said, for the last year or so I’ve been hearing more and more about Synology DiskStation products. Around 90% of my content is already stored and accessible from anywhere in the cloud. My photos are (supposed to) auto backup to Photostream in iCloud, iTunes has all of my music downloadable from all my devices from the cloud, and any important files and everything else go directly to Dropbox or Google Drive. These days most of my content, from photos and movies to back ups of important files for work, are already stored in the cloud. I’ll admit, I’ve never felt the need to purchase network-attached-storage (NAS) hardware for storing and accessing my media or backing up my files. In this hands-on video, I show you how I use the DS1618+ as a quiet and reliable Time Machine backup solution. Others, perhaps those in corporate environments, like to use NAS setups as a storage solution for video editing.īut there is another key reason why you might want to consider a NAS, especially in light of Apple’s decision to abandon its AirPort and Time Capsule products - Time Machine backups. In household environments, they can act like a media server, storing high quality video rips for local streaming. There are many reasons why individuals and companies employ the use of NAS boxes. Such an addition makes the DS1618+ ideal for connecting to machines with 10 Gigabit Ethernet, such as the iMac Pro. The DS1618+ features a PCIe 3.0 x8 expansion slot that can accommodate either an M.2 card for cache, or a 10GbE NIC for significantly faster throughput. What makes the DS1618+ particularly special is its expandability - and not just eSATA storage expandability that we usually associate with Synology products. This 6-bay machine comes with a quad-core 2.1GHz CPU, and 4GB of DDR4 non-ECC memory that can be upgraded to 32GB of ECC RAM. Synology just launched its newest prosumer NAS box, the DS1618+.
